Field work in Ethiopia

Shashanka was in Jimma, Ethiopia, working with field, medical, and scientific teams from Jimma University this November. The goal of his fieldwork was to collect and prepare malaria samples from patients for single-cell RNA sequencing. These samples will represent the first single-cell RNA sequencing samples collected in Ethiopia.

Molecular Parasitology Meeting 2025

Jaclyn, Janne, Katie, and David attended MPM in Woods Hole in mid-September. Jaclyn presented her Trypanosoma research in a talk, Katie had a teaser talk + poster presenting her mdr1 P. vivax project and Janne presented her lncRNA research during the poster session. Also, David presented a poster on Katie’s AP2 project. During the free time the lab enjoyed beautiful Cape Cod.

Lab Orioles Outing

A bunch of us went to the Orioles game in September to say goodbye to Brice and Léa, who visited us for a month from our collaborator at the Institute Pasteur in Cambodia, to learn some Bioinformatics. It was a great time having you in the lab!
