Bareera completed her Bachelor of Science degree from University of Maryland, College Park in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Neurobiology and Physiology. After graduation, she worked at Lieber Institute as a Research Assistant where she studied X-linked Dystonia Parkinsonism Disorder. She joined Ament Lab in 2023 as a graduate student from UMB Molecular Medicine program to study neurogenetics. Her current research interests include addiction and reward circuitry, neurodevelopmental disorders, and analysis in R. Outside the lab, Bareera enjoys cooking, reading, and going on lab retreats!
